Check your toilets, bathroom faucets, shower heads, washing machines, and kitchen faucets. If it is just one fixture, you may be able to replace it and get better pressure immediately.
If your problem is more widespread, you will have to dig a bit further to find the cause. Look into seeing if your water meter and main shut-off valves are completely open. These can sometimes get closed or partially closed by city workers (in the case of the water meter) or during a home repair.
You can also check to see if your home has a pressure regulator, and if so, see if it is failing. A failing pressure regulator can mean either an increase or decrease in water pressure. This will affect all the water-bearing fixtures in your home. If this is the case, you will need to call a professional to get this resolved.
If your water pressure is resulting from failing pipes that are beyond repair, you may need to replace the home’s entire plumbing system. Pipes accumulate build-up over time, and if left to their own devices without maintenance the pipes can become too corroded to function properly, creating limited water pressure.
